have you ever

stopped to smell the roses?

thought what next?

taken a leap to something new?

thought what if?

stopped to take a breath?

thought why me?

taken a chance on someone?

Life is full of so many questions and at times it can be so overwhelming that we don't stop to assess which are important and which are just really silly. It seems most questions in life branch off from one question:

how come? what if? why me? then what?

I've been asking myself so many questions lately that I haven't stopped to do the simple things, smell the roses, take a breath, give someone a second chance and taken a leap and done something for me. So many things are changing in my life at the moment and it's only natural to ask questions but where do you get the answers from??

Do you know and if so please direct me there.

Time will only tell (cliche I know) but really how much time do I have, we don't know what tomorrow holds and we don't know what's around the corner so maybe just maybe one question should answered each day and that way I will be able to get through them all and come out with direction, answers and happiness.

Family-bunch-troops-tribe-people-rat pack

Who is family? What is family?
I think that to define family is to put a label on those who are not directly blood related; a family member comes in many different ways. An aunty, uncle, step-parent, step-sibling, half-sibling, sister in law, brother in law, daughter in law, son in law, mother in law, father in law, cousions, niece, nepew, close friend, godparent. It's an endless list, only you can decide who are your family. I think of those who I love dearly, would do anything without hesitation for and always have a special place in my heart as my family. Give me an example you say? Well I consider my godfather my unlce, a very close family friend an aunty and I consider my best friend my sister.
My immediate family is made up of me, my younger brother and sister, my mum and dad. Extended family is made up of two uncles, three aunties and seven cousions. Sadly my grandparents have passed but I had two grandads, two grandmothers and a gran - they will never be forgotten. The rest of my family is made up of second and third cousions who I haven't meet yet but hope to soon; my godparents, close friends and other friends that I refer to as uncle, aunty and neice.
Another type of family that I've noticed is very strong is a work family; espeically those who work in the emergency services or armed forces. The people who work in thes services tend to be very close all because they have something in common. The risk of not returning from work - a very morbid thought I realise but also it's reality. I remember watching a movie, Ladder 49 it was roughly based around the events of 9/11 and one young fireman. The look on his wife's face when she saw the chiefs red truck pull up outside their home, the chief and the priest get out and walk towards her - she knew instantly why they were there. Yes she was clearly upset but I admire her for the strength that she had inside her to hold things together for her children. I don't think she would have had the strength if it had not been for the fellow fireman - her extended family.
So as you can tell family comes in many different forms and is found in many different places.

Call it a clan, call it a network, call it a tribe, and call it a fanily. Whatever you call it, whoever you are, you need one. - Jane Howard.

Hello hello

So sorry, I've been away for a while and now there is lots to catch up on.

Firstly, it was my friend Tillie's 21st birthday! It was a great night with good people and lots of laughs. Tillie, myself, Tillie's cousion Jess and a another friend, Jacinta, all rented an apartment for the night. It was lovely to be able to share the day with Tillie and the girls - all getting ready together and then getting to ride in a beautiful pink cadalliac to the venue. I won't say anymore, I'll just share some photos as there is still much to share.

Secondly, I spent 5 days in Auckland. It was a great break away the worries of life. The main reason for going to Auckland was to see 30 Seconds to Mars. I made a new friend while I was there - Sarah. She is an amazing person who can make anyone laugh, I laughed so much while I was in Auckland that my sides hurt. We also celerbrated Tillie's 21st again.

Mmmm

Mmmm would be how to describe all the yummy things done this weekend.
It started with Noodle Canteen, a glass of wine and the movie Remember Me - Robert Pattison, so good he had me in tears at the end. Yes real tears, I admit I was sobbing like a little baby but it is a must see movie. This was really just a build up of what was to be a great weekend. A Glee Marathon. Yes we hired the first season of Glee and watched it all weekend - spectacular. Every time a episode finished we would either grab another drink, usually of the alcohol kind, or make something. The food we had this weekend was always followed by mmmmm. Homemade pizza, cookies, big breakfast, cheese platters, sour worm lollies and popcorn. What's a DVD weekend without popcorn right?! However after all that yummy food I do feel the need to attend the gym every day this week
Alas tomorrow is Monday which means it's another 5 days of working, another 5 days of early mornings and another 5 days till the weekend. But there are two good things to look forward to this week - I'm going a date and it's my best friend's 21st birthday party.

Me myself and I....

Welcome to my blog Memories are forever my word is full of dreams.

This blog is a first for me, I haven't ever done one before, lately I've been typing and writing like a mad woman about all the thoughts that have been entering my mind, the things that are happening in my life and just generally how I feel. When I told a great friend of mine about all my writing and typing she suggested a blog - share with the world. My great friend Tillie has been blogging for a while now and I always enjoy reading what she has to share with us, you should check out her blog if you haven't already. http://shewaitsforwhispers.blogspot.com/

Now let us start with the basics get the low down on who I am, where I'm from and some general info about me;

Name: Rosie
Age: 22 years Star sign: Pisces's

I like many things, dancing, music, drawing, gossiping, tea, chai lattes, Whittaker's chocolate, movies, having fun with my dear friends, laughing and getting creative. There is so much more but if I share all there will be nothing for future blogs.

I'm originally from London, United Kingdom however I have been living in a country at the bottom of the world known as New Zealand - and for you who don't know where that is, it's in the South Pacific and no it's not part of Australia. I guess you could say I'm from many places; my dad's side of the family is from the UK and my mum's side is half Australian and half New Zealander.

Something I would like to try and do in each of my blog entries is leave you with a quote, something to think about. Today's quote is this....

It's not about me, in a weird way it's about the people who get me here - Nicole Kidman.
